Photomontage is a flexible and effective choice for marketing images. Already used extensively for print ads, (think editorial car adverts) this technique combines 3D rendered elements and photography.
As you can see from our project, location is not an issue! To save costs we adapted stock photography with our client’s 3D product files. We highlighted the product’s most interesting elements whilst giving the impression of motion with the background edit.
This innovative technique costs less than a traditional photoshoot and is a quicker approach compared to a full CGI build and render. The result is a ‘photobash’ that is a carefully layered image combining multiple layers of visual information.
The editorial style is regularly used for eye catching marketing campaigns, instantly conveying the brand message to consumers.

First impressions count and the entrance to your home is no exception. Our
modern classic design scheme has industrial touches with luxe brass detailing
that can easily be translated to your home.
When updating your hallway consider the practicalities. Here we used a
hardwearing oak floor, making sure the surface can stand up to the demands of
the space. If budget allows why not invest in a statement black and white floor
tile or crittall section dividers? Both will add architectural detail and help
to elevate the space.
Storage is an important element of a design scheme; we included a sleek console
table to quickly tuck away keys and unopened post.
How to style up this look
• Invest in a hardwearing floor for the high traffic area.
• Allow the light in and exclude drafts with crittall doors.
• Choose a classic column radiator in a modern brass finish.
• Soften the look with wicker free form storage baskets and foliage

Here’s to a somewhat smoother year than recent. As ever, we are thankful for the resilience and dedication of our team. Without them, we wouldn’t have had such a successful year.
As brands are looking to build an authentic connection with their customers, we’ve seen a continuing rise in AR and online interactive projects. It’s been a pleasure to recruit additional CGI staff to meet the demand of this engaging service.
This year’s new client wins mean our order book is quickly filling up for a strong start to 2022.
Set Visions offices will be closing at 5pm on Thursday 23rd of December, reopening and production ready on Tuesday the 4th of January.
Our thoughts turn to those customers who have made our success possible. From all our staff you chat to, to my colleagues behind the scenes we’d all like to wish our customers a Happy Christmas and best wishes for a happy, healthy New Year.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to do what we enjoy.

CG visualisations have long been an alternative choice for interior designers and product marketers. As an established photorealistic studio, we’ve seen an increase in requests for running water in our imagery. The tactile material adds another level of realism in CGI visualisations.
Our CG team challenged the creative use of this technique, combining the organic fluid to our own festive contest; what is your take on a Set Visions Christmas?
Our team put a merry twist on the Set Visions logo, using the phoenixFD plugin to simulate the fluid for a well known classic Christmas pud’. Rendered using V-Ray, our animation short is a great demo of our team’s creativeness and technical abilities.
No food waste and an engaging story to tell!

To let off some creative steam, we gave our CG team an open Christmas brief; simply show us your take on Christmas! Keep your eyes peeled over December on our blogs and social media to see the unique entries. Some design focused, some whimsical and some slightly sinister…!
Here's a selection of entries from the team.
Our in-house R&D team is tasked with testing the latest CGI, AR and animation software. As a visualisation studio, we continuously push expectations to remain at the forefront of photorealistic renders.
Here’s a great example of our Studio Lead putting his technical skills to the test, rendering a technical festive treat.
"I created the animation to test the exciting recent release of Blender 3.0. Using Pixar's USD format to transfer assets over from 3ds Max, I used the new cycles X render engine, and the GPU to provide a much more interactive, artistic process. With huge speed increase, taking just a couple of hours to deliver the end frames for this animation on a single machine"

A recent project has seen one of our clients benefit from the ongoing cost savings of CGI visualisations. By adapting their existing CG imagery, our client has expanded their marketing assets to include both lifestyle stills and social media videos.
Our interior designers set the brand look, ensuring a product that is often overlooked, is key to the interior design scheme.
It was important to our client to communicate the features and benefits of the product whilst demonstrating the contemporary design. The ongoing series of animations follow a cost-effective format, so our production team can deliver the animations quickly and efficiently.

Set Visions are industry leaders in
photorealistic CGI. We have successfully retrained many of our in-house
photographers, using their creative lighting and composition skillsets within
our 3d rendering software.
During the pandemic marketeers have been
turning to CG imaging due to the ease of remote working and the lack of
creative restriction, this has created growth in our CG department and the need
to expand our team.
We are interested in hearing from any established
commercial studio photographers who are feeling insecure in the photography
industry. This role is specifically for those who can take the opportunity to
retrain and use their skills in the virtual world, and in doing so, future
proof their career.
An interest in architecture, interiors, and
design would be greatly beneficial.
If you are interested, please send a brief employment/skills bio along with a few examples of your
photography work to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be
in touch if we feel your skill set matches our requirements.
